STREET STYLE VS. DECOR: It Was All Yellow

If summer were a colour, it would definitely be yellow. Besides it being the colour of the sun, an ultimate summer icon, it is certainly a colour that is an upcoming trend for spring/summer 2014.  Not only have I seen it on the runways and on the streets, I have spotted the bright hue in buildings and interiors.

On the spring 2014 ready to wear runways, a few designers spread the fair share of yellow love. Among those were Damir Doma, Christian Siriano, Ralph Lauren, Opening Ceremony, Band of Outsiders, Rebecca Taylor and Karen Walker. Back on the streets, I captured my fellow friend at a dress up party where she was spotted in her yellow tailored pants – pants she also designed and made herself!

So candidly it has been working in the fashion realm. And it has trickled into the interior world.  On my last visit to the National Gallery of Victoria, I visited their book and gift store and it was painted yellow in numerous areas. It definitely was a great way to brighten up the room. Not only did it bring a little sunshine into the space but it also made me feel more energetic and happy.

If you feel like bringing a little happiness and summer sunshine into your room, I suggest you try these yellow items!
